This research was funded through the Laidlaw Foundation. Using qualitative interviews, we engaged 40 participants who have experienced forced marriage and with service providers. The results explore the experience of survivors including: service needs, experience of systems, barriers to service, and general experiences of forced marriage. The report also engaged service providers to explore topics including capacity, organized responses, gaps in service and awareness/education needs. This is the most comprehensive report of survivor experiences in Canada due to the number of survivors we were able to interview. Community-based research ethics approval was obtained for this project.
