The first grant pulled in for this project was an Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) seed grant worth $75,000, designed to develop and pilot an entrepreneurship program for women. Proven successful and with much focus on amplifying our social capital (see related story in our portfolio) we were able to scale the program 100% in a months time through securing funding through three additional sources. We received $333,188 from Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada to support a version of the program for newcomer women, we received $457,064 from Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), and an addition $20,000 from the Libro Annual Grants.
Shortly after these expanded programs launched, we completed a funding application for ESDC, which brought in an additional $720,000 to continue the program.
